Be proud of your work! :-)

For those who are not from Cork, this is LGBT+ Pride Week (July 23-31).

So after making bunting, I had some leftover triangles and cold coffee, so I went to and made a cafetiere cosy.

Well, I played around with the shapes...

...and found this worked best.

Cutting two outers, two lining pieces and two pieces of insulated batting,

I quilted the outer and batting together, which was a) to keep the layers together and b) to give the outside texture, it being a choice between quilting all three layers (which would mean that I would have raw edges to deal with and have to get involved with bias binding, which I didn't want to do today, quilting the batting to the top or quilting it to the lining, which would leave all the texture to the inside.

My only questions were what thread colour to use and what pattern to choose. Netiehr choice was easy, but in the end I went with a pale purple colour and to just follow the lines. Never underestimate the power of straight lines!

Then I sewed the two quilted outers rights sides together and cut into the corners.

I did the same with the lining.

Then I placed the outer together with the inner, right sides together and sewed around the base, leaving a gap to turn it all right sides out. Don't forget to back stitch either side of the gap!

Then, carefully, turn it right sides out, pushing, not pulling.

It was tight but it will come right - patience, polite refusal to budge, and a bit of faith and you'll be grand! :-)

Then tidy up the seam edge, fold in the opening and top stitch around the base and voila!
